Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you’re brand new to Pilates, we recommend beginning with several private lessons to get acquainted with the machines and choreography as well as getting a better understanding of your individual movement needs.
  • If private lessons are outside of your goals or budget, we recommend beginning with an intro apparatus class and working your way up to intermediate as you get more confident with the choreography and pacing of class.
We recommend beginning with one of our Welcome Packages. In order to book a class or lesson, we require a saved credit card on file. Once you’ve added a card to your account, you can request a private lesson or schedule a group class. We recommend beginning with several private lessons before either adding or transitioning into group classes.
All cancellations for private lessons and group classes must be made outside of 24 hours. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment time will incur the full session fee.
  • After you’ve requested a private lesson, you will receive an email or text confirming that we’ve received your request. This does not mean the lesson has been confirmed. You will receive an additional email or text once the instructor has approved your request.
  • Please note that we cannot approve lesson requests without a credit card saved to your account.

You can add a credit card to your account via desktop or mobile app. Login to your account through our website by clicking “Login/Register” in our menu. Navigate to your Profile and then Billing Information and add a credit card. You can find more information on how to do this here.

When you arrive, you can enter the studio. Please don’t ring the doorbell unless the door is locked. The studio is a “no-shoe zone”, so please take off your shoes and put them on the shelf near the entryway. Our dressing rooms are just to the right when you walk in. You can wait on one of our benches in the front of the studio and your instructor will be there to greet you shortly.

No. Welcome Packages are for individual use only. We do allow you to share our regularly priced packages with friends or family once your welcome package is complete.

We encourage our clients to do what they’re most comfortable with. While we don’t require grippy/pilates socks, they can be helpful in your practice to feel more grounded. Regular socks are also allowed.

As the original Joseph Pilates Studio, we get inquiries from Pilates practitioners and enthusiasts from all over the world. While we share and understand the excitement about our beloved studio, we do not currently have the capacity to provide tours. If you’d like to come see the space, we welcome you to book a class or lesson – after which you’re welcome to take a couple of photos. We ask that you please do not come during business hours and disrupt lessons taking place.

Since we have a fully virtual front desk, we ask that you purchase your lessons online before attending. If you’re unable to do this before class, your instructor will ring you up at the end of your lesson.
